Clinical Guidelines

Aims of Group
To develop practical clinical neonatal guidelines using a collaborative approach, with the Bedside Clinical Guidelines Partnership.

The group is responsible for overseeing the production and implementation of a collection of neonatal clinical guidelines across the network. Key functions are:
• To identify the clinical guidelines required within the network
• To oversee the production of the guidelines in an agreed, consistent format
• To ensure the implementation the guidelines across the network
• To monitor the use of the guidelines
• To undertake the review and update of the clinical guidelines in the network every two years

The development of high quality guidelines for the management of neonates is a very time consuming exercise. Collaboration with the Bedside Clinical Guidelines Partnership has provided essential support for this exercise in terms of expertise, and a supporting infrastructure including a clinical effectiveness librarian (for finding the published evidence base) and a pharmacist.

When completed each guideline will appear on the website with accompanying evidence pages.
